Experimental Sound Performance
Developed during Experimental Media Masterclass

104-J invites you to listen to the machines – charged sound pushes the boundaries of the audible.

In the live performance the artists transform everyday electronic devices into an electro-acoustic experiment. Using special DIY microphones, the current signals from the devices can be picked up. Their vibrations create immersive soundscapes that would otherwise remain hidden. The voltage is transformed into sound. The recorded noises are controlled, distorted and form the starting point for the sound experience.

The sound performance experiments with the unpredictable noises of the devices and combines them into a rhythmic unit through an intuitive playing style. The system becomes visible, the current becomes audible. 104-J is a performative look into the invisible inner workings of technology.
