Bruchteil Einer Ewigkeit
2026
AV project
Developed during Experimental Media Masterclass for exhibition „Von meinem Fenster aus“ by Fine Art Gallery Traismauer
Marking the „200 Years of Photography“ anniversary, this audiovisual project places the tool itself, the camera, at the center of attention. While photography is usually defined by the finished image, this work dissects its acoustic component.
The soundscape is based entirely on actual camera noises, ranging from historical mechanical shutters to modern digital clicks. Using analog tape loops and digital time-stretching algorithms, these fleeting sounds are elongated and manipulated. What is acoustically hidden is made audible: frequencies that would normally be lost within the fraction of a second of a shutter release unfold into an entirely new sonic experience.
In the final realization, this auditory deconstruction is mirrored visually. Through live digital manipulation, the imagery reacts directly to the transformed sounds. Audio and video merge into a unified whole, inviting the audience to experience the familiar „view out the window“ and the seemingly well-known in a new way.
