Floating Palace is a suspended installation constructed from a wide variety of organic and artificial materials. The object detaches from the ground and assumes an elevated position in the space. This spatial shift creates distance and alludes to social hierarchies, wealth, and forms of exaggeration. The palace appears monumental, yet its static stability is compromised. Poised between staging and instability, the work addresses societal conditions of detachment, in which proportion, responsibility, and connection to one’s surroundings are lost. The suspended structure reveals how fragile structures are permanently staged as stable.
