Science Friction

2023
Experimental AV-Performance
Developed during the project semester of Experimental Media Class

In a live audio-visual experience, Fabian Kindl, Christian Munk and Valentin Steiner perform with an Azzam Bells MPA-019, an unusual sound object that works primarily with friction, several modular and digital synthesizers, and the visual software TouchDesigner. The resulting sounds resemble dystopian ambient sound covered with modular noise and a touch of techno. There are also accompanying glitch visuals with immersive feedback loops.
